Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

These days in gaming the market is always changing. There are two companies that are constantly on top that are Sony and Microsoft, but there in the shadows lies Nintendo or the "problem child". Excluding the release of the new mobile device game Pokémon Go Nintendo suffered a net sales drop of 31% or $853 million to $587 million and an operating loss of $48 million. Being established in September 23, 1889 in Kyoto, Japan no doubt Nintendo is part of the gaming industry as much as anyone, but when exactly are they going to be competing with Xbox or PlayStation. In November 15, 2001 Microsoft Xbox was released and along with it Halo. The combination of these releases changed the gaming industry forever making the Xbox a cash cow and star. Microsoft has released multiple Xbox's including different variants throughout the years. Microsoft Xbox and Sony PlayStation have been in a bit of a gaming feud since Xbox releases; even though PlayStation was first released September 9, 1995 much earlier than the Xbox they are both on top and compete for dominance.
